What Happened in the 9th Ward?

A question of Levee-ty
There has been talk about the New Orleans levees being blown up intentionally to redirect water into impoverished neighborhoods like the 9th Ward to spare affluent areas including the French Quarter and the Garden District. There has also been talk that this is yet another conspiracy theory.

Queenie's Daughter is an open-minded sort with a definite opinion. In her opinion, the "Levee Question" should not be dismissed until a thorough investigation has been made as to why EXACTLY the levees in the 9th ward and St. Bernard parish were breached.

QD also points out that "breached" is a euphemism.

If "Black Speech" is called Ebonics, the language of the White Man should be called "Euphemonics." White people talk in code. They say, "That place is d a n g e r o u s" when they really mean "That neighborhood is full of Black folks." etc. ad nauseum...

QD will write another entry with a guide to the euphemisms of Euphemonics. For now, here is an excellent article, written in plain English, by the Black Electorate College.

Politics Mondays: The Intentional Destruction Of Levees in New Orleans – A Conspiracy Theory? Not In The Light Of History.

And then there is this from the Washington Post: For Most in New Orleans's Ninth Ward, Extra Coverage Wasn't Required
