QD lived in New Orleans many years ago. One evening she was walking over to Magazine Street when all of a sudden she had the sensation of spirits flowing through her body sort of like a human Grand Central Station. It freaked her. QD immediately abandonned her plans to go to see her friend's cabaret show. Instead, QD turned around and walked back to her apartment on Constantinople Street, got into her bed, pulled the covers up over her head and slept with the lights on.

Here's the deal. The veil is thin in New Orleans. Sometimes the dead don't stay put and sometimes the living are already passed. It's a great city - and one not to be trifled with.
